Making earnings more predictable
With this update, you can count on a more consistent way to earn for every task you decide to take on.
Average earnings remain the same
Average earnings for time spent delivering remain the same as before these updates, but task fees are now spread out more evenly. This will bring better balance between short and long tasks.
You might notice that some tasks pay a little less than before, while others pay a little more as your overall earnings become more consistent.

Do you know how tasks are priced?
Every task fee is calculated based on four elements. This video breaks down the details – give it a watch!
New task screen
See the estimated time for each task upfront
The updated task acceptance screen is designed to make it easier for you to evaluate the tasks you are offered.
In addition to the information you’re used to seeing, you’ll now see an estimated time for completing each task to help you make quick decisions on the go.
The estimate you see is based on the route distance and insights about the specific venue and customer location.
Balancing out long and short task fees
Before this update, longer tasks used to pay less than shorter ones considering the time and effort they required.
With more balance between short and long tasks, the task fees you are offered now will better reflect your time and effort.
Frequently asked questions about pricing
From your feedback and data insights, we learned that longer tasks haven’t been paid as well as shorter ones. When there are imbalances like this, some couriers spend a portion of their online time waiting for the “best tasks”, which can impact both their earnings and the customers’ experience negatively. Now, no matter which tasks you accept, the time and effort needed to earn the same amount will be more consistent.
No, average earnings for time spent delivering will stay the same before and after this update. This update is about making earnings more balanced and predictable across different task types. It’s true that shorter tasks will pay less than before, but longer tasks will pay more, and higher fees for delays at venues will add consistency. The overall goal is to improve the predictability of earnings while keeping the flexibility of delivering with Wolt.
What we mean is that it will be easier for you to know what to expect when you go online or accept a task. Before, the delivery demand overview only showed the status for the whole city, but now you will be able to see a real-time map showing how busy your area is, if you deliver in a bigger city. This will help you decide where to head to, and predict how much you can earn if you stay online. When a task is offered to you, the task fee will now better reflect the time it takes to complete the task, and you don’t have to worry about delays at the venue.
Yes! Each task fee is calculated based on the effort and time needed, so even though the shortest tasks will pay a little less than before, they are priced to be worth the short time it takes to complete them.
How does waiting time at venues impact task fees?
Task fees will now automatically be adjusted if the order is +3 minutes late at the venue.
